Mother of God Shrine & Altar Pavilion

Sisters of Saint Basil the Great

Uniontown, Pennsylvania

Mike Moyta, Design 3 Architecture

The Mother of God Shrine altar pavilion was built in 2000 by the Sisters of St. Basil the Great at their Mount Saint Macrina campus in Uniontown, PA.

I  designed it to reflect the wooden church heritage of the Carpatho-Russin Byzantine Catholic people who attend the Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Mt. St. Macrina every Labor Day weekend.

Their Shrine Altar Pavilion was built a few years before the Mother of God Shrine, and was also designed by me to be reminiscent of the wooden church heritage.
